Located next to a graveyard in Tonopah, Nevada, you will find a creepy clown motel which has over 800 eerie-looking clown figurines. Although the place is open for a visit, I think this is an invitation that many will be declining.
Just in case an isolated motel set next to a graveyard wasn’t scary enough, the Clown Motel in Nevada, US, has gone one step further by being filled with clown figurines from floor to ceiling.
The eccentric hotel is owned by Hame Anand who has a fascination with all things clown. With over 2,000 clown collection pieces, he decided to buy the Vegas hotel back in 2017 and fill it with his favourite thing.
Although the hotelier has a passion for clowns, he admitted to Thrillist that initially he suffered from the jitters.
He said: “I was scared a little bit.
“I couldn’t sleep in my room. But one day I thought, ‘why did I come here? There must be some divine power. They want me here to run this motel. So probably, they are not going to mess with me.’”
The motel owner believes there has been the odd occasion when something unnatural has happened, from hearing footsteps and voices in unoccupied rooms to hearing guests recall strange incidents.
He added: “This was how I knew that they were telling me, ‘we are here, but don’t worry about that.’”
Having chatted to motel visitors, Hame has noticed there are similarities in the reports of mysterious incidents. In particular, unusual noises are often reported from rooms 108, 109, 210, 215 and 217. Apparently, the bathroom doors open of their own accord and whispering voices can be heard.
When asked what he thought about people thinking it was scary to own a clown hotel, Hame responded: “I don’t see why people say ‘creepy”… The clown is the laughing character. It makes you laugh.”
