Anthony Jefferson recently took his three young sons to a car dealership in the Bronx, New York. They were there looking to buy a car for Anthony’s wife, hoping to surprise her for her upcoming birthday.

Anthony and his kids, ages 6, 5, and 2, were sitting on the couch together inside the dealership when three armed suspects began shooting into the building.

Multiple shots were fired at a man inside the dealership, who started shooting back before the attackers fled the scene.

All Anthony could think to do was protect his children, and he used his body to shield them from the gunfire.

In security footage capturing the incident, Anthony can be seen bravely pushing his kids off the sofa and onto the floor, where he threw his body on top of them.

Anthony was shot three times in the process.

This amazingly heroic dad was rushed to the hospital and, thankfully, he survived. But the shooting has left his children traumatized.

Not only that, but it looks as though Anthony has also lost both of his jobs. He was working as both a professional painter and a construction worker, but reportedly lost them because he cannot walk due to his injuries.
