15+ Heartwarming Pics Of Children Who Were Just Adopted

On any given day, there are nearly 443,000 children in foster care in the United States, and on average, children remain in state care for nearly two years.

Also, despite the common perception that the majority of children in foster care are very young, the average age of kids entering care is 8.

Together We Rise reported that 1,200 kids enter foster care in the United States on a daily basis. To address this issue, TWR brings together volunteers to help kids in foster care and to encourage families to adopt them.

This non-profit organization is dedicated to transforming the way youth navigate through the foster care system in America. It was founded in 2008, by Danny Mendoza after he discovered that his 9-year-old cousin was living in a car. Even though he tried to help, he was under the age of 21 and ran into obstacles.

After he was denied the ability to help his cousin, he decided to find a way to help children in similar situations. After telling his vision to his friends and colleagues, he was encouraged to start a new organization. His vision became a reality with Together We Rise grew, now a nation-wide organization changing the way youth experience foster care.

A few years ago, the organization started posting pictures of newly adopted kids to Facebook and Instagram, and the response was amazing!

They explained that thousands of people reached out to them, willing to learn more about the process of becoming a foster parent or adopt kids.

Moreover, thousands of professional photographers applied to donate their services to families adopting. The overwhelming amount of inquiries led to the creation of an application for any interested photographers.

On the first day, over 5000 professionals signed up.
